This policy covers serenewave.top ("the site"), published under the name Cinder & Flask. It explains what is collected when you read a bench card, why, and what you can do about it. Questions go to [email protected].
What we collect directly
Reading a card requires no account, no sign-up and no personal details. If you email us, we hold your address and the contents of the thread until the matter is resolved, and then delete it. We do not sell or rent email addresses, and we do not add them to a mailing list unless you explicitly ask.
Server logs
Like almost every website, the server records standard request data: the page requested, the time, an approximate location derived from the IP address, the referring page, and a browser user-agent string. These logs are used to keep the site working, to spot abuse, and to count which cards are read. They are retained for a limited period and then rotated out.
Cookies and local storage
The site itself sets no tracking cookies. Cookies that appear while you browse come from the advertising and analytics services described below. Your browser's settings let you block or delete any of them, and the site continues to work normally if you do.
Advertising: Google AdSense and DoubleClick
This site is supported by display advertising served through Google AdSense. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website and to other websites on the internet.
- Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to this site and/or other sites on the internet.

Personal data relating to readers may be transferred outside the EEA, including to the United States, under the safeguards our processors publish, such as the standard contractual clauses and the EU-US Data Privacy Framework.
Your rights in California (CCPA / CPRA)
California residents have the right to know what categories of personal information are collected and for what purpose, to request deletion, to correct inaccurate information, and to opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information as those terms are defined by the CCPA. We do not sell personal information for money. The use of advertising cookies to deliver interest-based advertising is treated as "sharing" under the CPRA, and you can opt out through the consent notice or the advertising opt-outs listed above. We will not discriminate against you for exercising these rights.
Children
This site is written for adults supervising kitchen work, and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, write to us and we will delete it.
Analytics
We use privacy-respecting aggregate measurement: page views and referrers, without building a profile of an individual reader. Where an analytics product that relies on cookies is used, it is covered by the consent notice and the opt-outs described above.
